Regional Omicron Information

Regional Update
As we head into the Chinese / Lunar New Year and the Winter Olympic Games, countries in Asia are doing their best to balance health, happiness and the realities of Omicron.

Korea
Reduced validity of the pre-arrival Covid test to 48 hours has been introduced and extended domestic measures through February 6th. 

Hong Kong
Applications to enter through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge under the Return2HK and Come2HK schemes are until further notice not accepted. Arrivals with existing applications must undergo quarantine. 

Japan
The mandatory quarantine period has been shortened from 14 to 10 days. The daily arrival cap was also lowered from 5000 to 3500 per day, including both returning Japanese citizens and foreign nationals. 

Malaysia 
A recent announcement stated that as of January 24th, the quarantine period for fully-vaccinated and boosted arrivals has been shortened from 7 days to 5 days. 

Cambodia
The visa exemption for ASEAN nationals and issuance of electronic tourist visas (T-visas) and business visas (E-visas), was recently resumed. 
 
Singapore
Starting February 1st, long-term pass and work pass applications for Singapore, as well as renewal applications,must be fully vaccinated.  All short-term visitors must seek prior approval via appropriate Covid-19 travel channels (e.g. obtain a Safe Travel Pass under Green/Fast Lane arrangements or Air Travel Pass or Vaccinated Travel Pass) before they can enter Singapore. Existing employment pass (EP) holders already in Singapore may apply through VTL, if travelling from VTL countries.
